Course Reflection:

This class was beneficial in helping me gain access to technical research tools including statistical software.  I gained a better understanding of how to survey research and check for validity and reliability to make sure data analysis was viable.

How Theme Was Met

This class was designed to develop the skills of the practitioner to be a consumer of computer-based learning research.  The course reviewed basic and applied computer-based educational research design and the interpretation of statistics. 

 Collaboration

Paper: Facilitating On-Line learning Communities: The Educator and the Student Research and Collaboration

Collaboration was utilized here in our final research project.

Course Goals/Objectives:

  • To develop the skills as an effective consumer of educational technology research to improve student learning.
    • Locate existing sources of research in educational technology.
    •  Read and understand existing research in educational technology.
    • Critically analyze research projects or proposals.
    • Describe and discuss the various methodologies used in educational research.
    • Develop proposals for, and conduct research that is practical in the professional role of the graduate student.


Specific Course Work:

The following is a research project created for the purposes of this course.  The paper is entitled: Facilitating On-line Learning Communities: The Educator and the Student.
