(Master of Science in Educational Technology)
My
career path began after I graduated from DeSmet high school in 1999.
From there, I headed to NDSU for a major in Computer Science.
However, I decided I wanted to pursue a career in teaching instead.
I then headed to Dakota State University to pursue elementary
education. I graduated from DSU in the Fall of '03 (Magna Cum
Laude) with a B.S. in Eled and minors in the Center of
Excellence and Multimedia Web Development/Design. I began working as
an aide at Lake Preston School which is where I completed my student
teaching.
One year later, I became the Program Director of a new after school program, Kids First. I built the program from the ground up and ran it for four years while teaching computer classes in both the high school and elementary. I also coached volleyball while there. In 2008, I decided it was time to work towards a Masters in technology. I chose the MSET program because I was enjoying the time I was spending helping with computers K-12 at the Lake Preston School and I realized that I still had a knack for troubleshooting as I did when I started out in Computer Science at NDSU. While pursuing my Masters, an
opportunity to teach high school English arose at the Iroquois
School District. English was a passion of mine so I decided to
take the opportunity and I have been teaching 9-12 English Classes
and 7th Geography since 2009. My husband and I love riding motorcycles. However, Kash isn't quite ready for this so we recently sold one of our Harley's and purchased a 5th wheel camper which is a little more kid friendly! When we aren't riding or camping, you will find me on my computer working with websites that I manage or I'd probably be out back enjoying my garden. VIEW MY FULL RÉSUMÉ
