Course Reflection:

I found this course to be very beneficial.  We focused on software, hardware and driver installation.  We also focused on troubleshooting and how to effectively manage a computer to make it work to its fullest potential.

How Theme Was Met

This course is a study of computer hardware and networks used in the educational setting.  Topics include hardware maintenance and upgrade, network wiring, topologies, planning, installation and maintenance of computer networks.

 Leadership and Management

-    Routine checks and computer maintenance for the betterment of K-12 School

-    Understanding Troubleshooting

-  Working with Power Point and Technology

This course is the perfect example of showing leadership and management skills.  Schools rely heavily on technology and if there weren't someone to step up and management the equipment, students wouldn't be as successful.

Goals/Objectives:

  • Assess how computer software and hardware work together.

  • Describe the computer system board and memory.

  • Install hard drives including the use of the Command Prompt and develop troubleshooting strategies.

  • Support and install Windows XP and Windows7.

  • Configure computers to communicate.

  • Employ networking fundamentals and communication over the Internet.

  • Implement a plan for viruses, disaster recovery and maintenance.


Specific Course Work:

  •  We were asked to create a PowerPoint relating to some portion of technology.  I chose to better explain the history of the computer by focusing on Binary and Logic.
